Associate Scientist - BD-HEADQUARTERS. Candidate will work in one of the BD systems groups (Tevatron, Main Injector, Antiproton Source, Proton Source) contributing to machine operation, improvements, and diagnostics. Candidate will perform shift work during machine commissioning periods and will be expected to perform beam studies, coupled with advanced accelerator calculations, aimed at improving machine performance and versatility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform advanced accelerator calculations. Make access into beam enclosures and work in radiation and ODH areas. Perform beam measurements and experiments and assess the results. Some shift work is required during commissioning. Write accelerator application programs in C. **** PhD in physics. At least 3 years of postdoctoral work. Experience in experimental beam physics.
