CORNELL UNIVERSITY TENURE-TRACK PROFESSORIAL POSITION EXPERIMENTAL ELEMENTARY PARTICLE PHYSICS We are seeking an outstanding individual for a tenure-track professorial position in experimental elementary particle physics at the level of Assistant Professor. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, responsibilities will include supervision of graduate students and participation in the research program of the Laboratory for Elementary Particle Physics, which is currently based on the CESR e+e- storage ring and the CLEO experiment. Future directions are expected to include significant involvement in the international linear collider and as well as a nearer term program in a hadronic collider environment. CLEO provides a unique opportunity for high precision measurements at the D and D_s production thresholds in addition to studies of the Upsilon family and the J/Psi. The Laboratory envisions a substantial role in both the particle physics and accelerator development of the linear collider. A PhD in Physics and experience in experimental elementary particle physics is required. The position will be available in summer 2005.
