PAW on cdfsga C$DOC:CDFSGA_PAW.NOTE The latest release of the CERN library contains an interesting UNIX version of PAW. It is a Menu driven PAW, and exists on the cdfsga machine. The Menu version of PAW can be launched on cdfsga with > setenv DISPLAY :0 (as usual) > setup cern v93d > paw++ & There is an "Input Pad", where the usual PAW commands can be given there (so nothing is lost in this version) but the main difference is that one can also point and click in the Paw++ Main Browser window. It can be noted that the display can be on a VAXstation, on an Indigo, on an Xterminal, whatever. It is merely necessary to specify where you want the display sent. > setenv DISPLAY :0 The more traditional version of PAW is also available on cdfsga with > setenv DISPLAY :0 (as usual) > setup cern v93d > pawX11 & It is also worth noting that the traditional version of PAW can also be used for plain terminals (or MacIntoshes) with Tektronix 4014 emulation mode, via: > setup cern v93d > pawX11 Workstation type (?=HELP) =1 : 7878 Paw files can be moved from FNALD to cdfsga with the ZFTP program (which translates the data format on the way). > setup cern v93d > zftp FNALD ZFTP> cd fnalkg$strip:[top20.ana.dat_1b.zmumu] ZFTP> getrz nbkpr_712_prldata.paw ZFTP> quit
