This file is /cdf/run1/documents/development/cdfsga_www.html
An example of typical use on cdfsga is:
> setenv DISPLAY xxxxxx.yyyy.zzz:0 (as usual)
> setup www
> Netscape &
A line mode browser is also available,
> setup www
> lynx
The "Home Page" (the first page that one sees) can be changed.
Here is an example:
> setenv DISPLAY xxxxxx.yyyy.zzz:0 (as usual)
> setup www
> setenv WWW_HOME file:$HOME/www/home.html
> Netscape &
One can specify programs other than the defaults
to display certain types of files.
Such new mappings can be specified in the file:
$HOME/.mailcap
An example is
application/postscript; psview %s
which specifies that PostScript files should be viewed with the psview program.
Another example is
application/pdf; /usr/products/acrobat/b4_0/bin/acroread %s
which specifies that PDF files should be viewed with the acroread program.
The CDFNEWS newsgroups can easily be accessed on cdfsga.
> setenv DISPLAY xxxxxx.yyyy.zzz:0 (as usual)
> setup www
> Netscape news:fnal.cdf.cdf &
The CDFNEWS newsgroups can also be accessed via a line mode browser:
> setup www
> lynx news:fnal.cdf.cdf
P.S. For the time being, we suggest that one avoids reading mail
using a WWW browser, we are recommending exmh for mail reading instead.
