CDF Support Databases
All databases listed below are prototypes, all documents are drafts, and all
presentations are preliminary descriptions unless otherwise noted.
Overview
Databases
- Offline Server:

Data File Catalog : Description
of the catalog of produced data files and their luminosity.
- Offline and Online Server:
-
Calibration DB : Prototype description by J. Cranshaw of
the databases containing calibrations, alignment, and other data corrections.

Trigger DB : Database that will describe all four levels
of trigger: level 1, 2, 3 and production.

- Run Conditions DB : Database containing
conditions associated with the run that will need to be accessed by offline
analysis code. No prototype available.
- Online Server:

Online Hardware DB : Prototype description by G.
Goeransson of database of online channels organized by hardware
location.

CDF Conditions DB : Online database containing
slow controls and other information that will likely *not*
need to be accessed by the offline analysis code. Discussion of some of the
quantities in this database from S. Segler and A. Savoy-Navarro.
- Run Configuration DB : Online database containing
the partitioning information for Run_Control. No prototype available.

Database Clients
- Online : The online
interacts with the Online Hardware, Run Configuration, Calibration, Run
Conditions and CDF Conditions databases.
- Level 3 : Level 3
interacts with the Calibration, Run Conditions, and Trigger Table databases.
- Consumers :
The consumer processes running online and monitoring the data stream interact
with the Calibration, Run Conditions, CDF Conditions and Trigger Table
databases.
- Stage0 : Stage0
processing of data at B0 for calibration interacts with the Calibration, Run
Conditions, CDF Conditions, and Trigger Table databases.
- Production :
Production and reprocessing of CDF data and MonteCarlo in the production
farms interacts with the Data File Catalog, and the Calibration, Run
Conditions and Trigger Table databases.
- Offline :
Offline analysis at Fermilab and the remote institutions interacts with the
Data File Catalog, and the Calibration, Run Conditions and Trigger Table
databases.
Database Servers
Prototypes of Oracle databases with sample data and Oracle Designer 2000
repositories currently exist on the following servers for testing, design and
development purposes:
- Online Server B0DAU30: Calib DB, Trigger Table DB, Online Hardware DB.
- Offline Server CDFORA :
CDF Data File Catalog.
