Features of UIPACK VERSION 5

The following major enhancements have been added in Version 5:-

  1. ViewCursor Mode support. This operation mode has been implemented for Seiko GR1104 and GR1105 terminals. It allows the mouse to be used for interaction with an Application Program. Clicking on a word (delimited by characters not in the set A-Z, 0-9, ``_" and ``$") causes that word to be sent to the Application Program as if it had been typed in at the keyboard.
  2. Alert Viewports. These are viewports that will ``pop" automatically to the front of the screen if they receive text.
  3. Viewport Logging. Output to a Viewport may automatically be logged to a file (which can be the same file as that for Input Logging) if so desired.
  4. Software Cancel Tag. A software cancel tag (C) has been added for Indirect Command Files. This must be the only text on a line and causes the same action as Ctrl-C at interactive level. It is primarily intended for use in Process support procedures.
  5. User Information. User Information may now be associated with every Menu Button. This information is not displayed to the operator, but may be used by the Application Programmer for saving additional information associated with the button.
