Menu Modes of Operation

There are several different modes of operation that allow for the Package to take account of different machine environments. These are:-

Prompted
Prompted Mode utilises each Menu to provide a ``Dictionary" of allowed responses but, other than a Prompt, does not display the Menu itself. A ``Help" facility allows the User to see the list of allowed responses if necessary.
Scroll
This provides a single viewport on a screen where menu text is simply scrolled off the top as further information is output. No other Viewports are supported.
Viewport/Text
(or ViewText). This utilises the VAX/VMS Screen Management (SMG) Package to provide a multiple viewport mode of operation, where only text may be displayed. Selection of Menu Items is still by text input. This mode of operation is only currently supported on VAX/VMS systems.
Viewport/Cursor
(or ViewCursor). This is similar to ViewText mode of operation, except that the selection of Menu Items is by movement of the Cursor. This mode of operation is only currently supported on VAX/VMS systems for Seiko GR1104 and GR1105 Terminals.
Graphics
This utilises (wherever possible) the DI-3000 Graphics Package to allow for a cursor controlled style of interaction. However, prompted input will still take place in normal text mode. Graphics Mode takes advantage of intelligent terminal hardware that can retain downloaded information to switch rapidly between menus.
