Qualifier Syntax

Qualifiers are denoted by a ``/" character, followed by the Qualifier name and are optional. Depending on their type they may have a value associated with them (where this value may be Integer, textual etc.). Qualifiers are associated with a particular Verb or Verb Parameter, and must be unique within the set associated with the Verb. Each Verb may have qualifiers that conflict with those for other Verbs. Each qualifier has an attribute that determines whether it is negatable (e.g. /NoList), or has an associated value (e.g. /Copies=2). Qualifiers may be built up from the alphanumeric characters a-z, A-Z and 0-9, together with the underscore ``_" and dollar ``$" characters. They may contain up to 32 characters of which only the first 8 are significant by default. This default may be overridden by an Application Program however.
