Limitations

Processes created in this fashion need not necessarily execute UIPACK-based Programs. However there is no guarantee that non-UIPACK based Programs will function correctly (although programs using standard FORTRAN I/O should do so). Any UIPACK-based Program will work with the exception that no graphics may be used. A Process that itself creates several UIPACK Viewports will function correctly, its virtual Viewports being mapped onto physical Viewports on the screen. However, its Input Viewport will not be associated with the Input Viewport of the Server, but with the Viewport directly associated with its creation. The size and placement of this Viewport are determined by the Server. This Viewport will be ``popped" to the front of the screen and highlighted whenever this Process is logically connected to the keyboard.
