Each speaker for the winter conferences should give a practice talk during one of the practice talk meetings scheduled here.  

Make sure that your practice talk is scheduled at least 7 days before you leave for the conference, to allow time for revision and conference coordination.

Make sure that the time allocated for your practice talk is about twice the expected length of the talk, to allow for discussion.

Coordinate with the other CDF speakers in your session so as not to repeat too much material (detector description, running conditions, analysis cut description etc.)

We would like practice talks to be given when a mature presentation is available. We should not waste time with half baked presentations. If you are an inexperienced speaker, please prepare and practice your talk with a "talk mentor(s)" (advisor, convenor, expert) before your CDF practice talk. Ask this person to provide an example of a good talk on a similar topic.

If your talk presents combined results from CDF and D0, invite the relevant people from D0 to attend your practice talk at CDF and let the convenors and talk coordinators know who is invited.

Give a great talk, enjoy the conference and avoid any skiing accident.

And.... make a draft of your proceedings available to your physics group and the talk coordinators one week before it is due, to allow for revisions.
