CDF Logo Low Mass Di-Tau Analysis and Search for MSSM Higgs Exotics Logo

We present the results of a search for a neutral MSSM Higgs boson decaying to a pair of tau leptons. The analyzed data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of approximately 200 pb^-1 of p,pbar collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV. It was collected by the CDF detector during Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron. We select tau pair in which one of the taus decays hadronically and the other to electron or muon and neutrinos. We see no evidence of signal and perform a fit to the partially reconstructed di-tau mass to set limits on the product of Higgs production cross-section and its branching fraction to taus.

Di-Tau Total Transverse Energy Sum:
The HT distribution for di-tau events with one leptonic and one hadronic tau decay, EPS or GIF.

Visible Di-Tau Mass:
The visible di-tau mass (linear scale) of events with one leptonic and one hadronic tau decay, EPS or GIF.
The visible di-tau mass (log scale) of events with one leptonic and one hadronic tau decay, EPS or GIF.

Signal Efficiency:
Acceptance * Efficiency for a pseudoscalar Higgs as function of Higgs mass, EPS or GIF.

Signal Di-Tau Mass Spectrum:
Reconstructed di-tau mass for pseudoscalar Higgs of 115, 150, and 200 GeV/c**2, EPS or GIF.

Di-Tau Mass Spectrum Fit:
Reconstructed di-tau mass of events in the search region, with expected background and a Higgs Monte Carlo with mass of 130 GeV/c**2, EPS, JPEG, or GIF.
Reconstructed di-tau mass (log scale) of events in the search region, with expected background and a Higgs Monte Carlo with mass of 130 GeV/c**2, EPS, JPEG, or GIF.

Expected and Observed Number of Events:
Expected and observed number of events in the signal region, PS or GIF.

Cross-Section Limits:
