Using 195
of data accumulated using the
trigger
from Run II, we measure the lifetime of
and
mesons in four
final states. For the
the proper decay distance
is
determined to be
;
for the
,
.
In both measurements the first error is statistical and the second is
systematic. The ratio between
and
meson lifetimes is found to be

We present a measurement of the lifetimes of
the
and
mesons.
The
is reconstructed in two decay modes:
;
and
;
,
,
.
About 2160
signal candidates with precision silicon information
have been observed in the channel
, and
about 200 more have been observed in the mode
(to be compared with 900 and 80 observed events respectively with
precision silicon information in Run I).
The statistical error of the lifetime measurements in Run II
is now smaller than that of Run I.
The
is also reconstructed in two decay modes:
;
,
and
;
,
.
About 950 signal candidates, with silicon information, are found
in the first channel and another 600 events in the second channel
(to be compared with 430 and 135 events respectively in Run I).
We extract the lifetime for each channel using an unbinned maximum likelihood fit. Channels are combined using the fit correlation matrices. Our largest systematic error on the ratio comes from the background model, and is small with respect to the statistical uncertainty of the measurement.
This section summarizes the numbers which have been blessed for this analysis.
