Measurement of the Ratio of Branching Fractions Bs -> Ds π / Bd -> D+ π

This is the WEB page summarizing the blessed result for the measurement of the ratio of branching fractions for Bs mesons relative to B0 mesons. The measurement is done on the 355 pb-1 data set and have been blessed in the B Physics Meeting on Thursday October 13, 2005.  It superseeds the analysis performed on the 115 pb-1 (previous analysis)

BR(Bs → Ds π ) / BR(B0 → D+ π-) = 1.02 ± 0.07 ± 0.03 ± 0.15(BR) ± 0.15(PR)
fs/fd × BR(Bs → Ds π ) / BR(B0 → D+ π-) = 0.263 ± 0.017 ± 0.008 ± 0.039(BR)

There is a complete version of the results: ps.

This analysis is prepared by CDF in anticipation of the new precise measurements of BR(Ds → phi π) by CleoC collaboration and the new measurement of fs/fd at CDF. Those errors are clearly dominating the systematic error of the current measurement.

The following values of Branching fractions are used in this analysis:
BR(Ds → phi π) = 4.81 ± 0.64 % (BaBar)
BR(D+ → K π π) = 9.2 ± 0.6 % (PDG)
BR(phi → K K ) = 49.2 ± 0.6 % (PDG)
fs/fd = 0.259 ± 0.038 (PDG)

Below the eps versions of all figures meant for downloads.
