Measurement of the relative cross
sections of χc1 and χc2 .
This web page summarizes the results for the measurement of σ(χc2)/σ(χc1)
performed using the decay channel χc → J/ψ γ, based upon 1.1
fb-1 of data.
The results have been approved as of June 15, 2006.
We measure:
- σ(χc2)/σ(χc1) = 0.70 ± 0.04
(stat.)± 0.04 (sys.)± 0.06 (B.F.), for prompt
production
- σ(χc2)/σ(χc1) = 0.25 ± 0.07
(stat.)± 0.01 (sys.)± 0.02 (B.F.), for B decay
production
The ratio is calculated using the PDG 2005 branching fractions for the χc2
and χc1. The uncertainty labelled "B.F." is due to the
uncertainty on those branching fractions.
