The distributions are obtained using the "collinear neutrino approximation": projecting the missing transverse momentum in the event onto the directions of the visible tau decay products for non back-to-back taus.

Since these distribution were not used in the limit extraction (in this iteration of the analysis) they are not included as recommended plots for presentations... but we could not resist showing them for your viewing pleasure!
