Abstract

We present a search for a standard model Higgs boson produced in association with a Z or W vector boson in the missing transverse energy plus jets channel. Two jets with secondary vertex tags are required, consistent with a Higgs to bottom quarks decay, as well as large missing transverse energy due to undetectable neutrinos in Z or W decays. A track-based neural network is employed to separate events with real missing transverse energy from those which are the result of mismeasurement. This technique is then combined with calorimeter-based quantities in a final neural network, which is used to set expected and observed limits on associative standard model Higgs production. We set an observed limit of 8.0 times the Standard Model expectation for a Higgs mass of 115 GeV/c², with a total integrated luminosity of 1.7 fb^-1.
