Updated CDF Results on the Inclusive Jet Cross Section in Run II

Spring 2003 blessed results based on 85 pb-1

We now have collected more than 146 pb-1 of physics quality data that can be used for the inclusive jet cross section measurement. The Run II integrated luminosity significantly exceeds the Run I sample.

The dominant source of systematic error is due to the uncertainty on the energy scale and our understanding has reduced this uncertainty from 5% to a 3%.

The measured inclusive jet ET distribution is shown for the Run I and Run II data set.

The increase in the center of mass energy leads to an increased cross section at high ET. Our Run II results extend the Run I results by about 150 GeV.
