The cross section for events with large total transverse energy (sumet) from
RUN 1A data is presented. We have measured
the cross-section for two different choices of jet Et threshold
- Sumet > 320 GeV where the sum is over jets with corrected Et(jet) > 20 GeV
- Sumet > 400 GeV where the sum is over jets with corrected Et(jet) > 100 GeV
The cross-section
will be compared with the predictions from a next-to-leading order (NLO)
QCD calculation (JETRAD) and with
HERWIG which is a parton shower Monte Carlo. The higher jet
Et threshold is chosen so as to
produce a sample where two-jet events are dominant and thus better approximate
the NLO calculation.
