R10: The (W + >= 1 Jet)/(W Inclusive) Cross Section Ratio

Abstract

We present a measurement of the (W + >=1 Jet)/(W Inclusive) cross section ratio (R10) in W -> e nu events for jet Et thresholds ranging from 15 to 95 GeV. Using W -> e nu candidates from Fermilab Tevatron Runs 1A and 1B, we compare the measured values of R10 to NLO QCD predictions calculated using the DYRAD Monte Carlo program. Comparisons are made for both 0.4 and 0.7 jet cone clustering. Good agreement between data and theory is observed over a large range of jet Et thresholds for both cone sizes.
