This note presents some preliminary tests on an analysis tool (called topological event cleaning) that could be adopted for the top quark mass measurement in the lepton+jets channel. The aim of such tests was to understand if some requests on the topological distribution of the 4 leading jets in the event could lead to a lower systematic uncertainty and to understand how it works in addition to b-tagging. The topological event cleaning seems to be not performing as hoped in terms of decreasing of the uncertainty, while the selected events show in average a better parton-to-jet assignment. The code version used for the analysis was 4.11.2. This work (with the title ``Methods for the Measurement of the Top Quark Mass'') was written as a final report for the Italian ``Laurea Triennale'' in Physics, under the supervision of Giorgio Bellettini (INFN - Pisa) and Guram Chlachidze (JINR - Dubna).
