Specification for Level 1 TOF Trigger Implementation in Trigger DB -------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 0.0 22 April 2002 The following cuts and parameters will be added for use by the TOF trigger hardware: 1. TOF_THRESH (number of MIPs) - to be loaded into TOF ADMEMs 2. N_MIN (minimum number of TOF counters for multiplicity trigger) - to be loaded into PreFRED module 3. N_MAX (maximum number of TOF counters for multiplicity trigger) - to be loaded into PreFRED module 4. XFT_PT - for matching to HIP trigger in muon match box... already in DB There will be three options to choose from: HIP, TOF_MULTIPLICITY and TOF_COSMIC as detailed in: http://www-cdf.fnal.gov/trigger_database/Trigger_Options.pdf The PreFRED bits for the TOF_MULTIPLICITY and TOF_COSMIC triggers will be in the range of the Diffractive PreFRED module. Up to 2 multiplicity triggers and one Cosmic trigger will be allowed for. The bit assignments are: TOF_MULTIPLICITY - xx, yy TOF_COSMIC - zz The HIP trigger will be defined in the muon matchbox and will therefore depend on the matchbox FPGA version for implementation and PreFRED bit assignment. Some requirements that must be tested in validation (action if not satisfied): 1. There can only be two TOF_THRESHOLDs assigned in a given table. By definition one is associated with any HIP triggers and the other with any MIP triggers (Multiplicity or Cosmic) 2. Up to three HIP triggers per table (number controlled by Muon FPGA version) 3. Only one TOF_COSMIC trigger (specific option) per table 4. Only two Multiplicity triggers per table Notes: ----- RC will need to pass the TOF_THRESHOLD(s) to the TOF ADMEMs and the N_MIN and N_MAX values to the PreFRED module.
