General advisory
The creation of a new trigger table must satisfy certain hard constraints related to the trigger firmware and hardware. These constraints are described on this page. The java code can inform you about most of the rule violations. If you experience any problem satisfying the rules in your trigger table, please inquire with this group, or contact Alexei Varganov, or call the L1/L2 Trigger Database pager (630) 218-9486.Level 1 restrictions
Level 2 restrictions
- DIRAC specific options
at most 13 different specific options are allowed
at most 4 different track specification are allowed
for details check CDFNOTE 4225- NUON specific options
for details check CDFNOTE 5424 or
click here- CLC should be specified only once
- Bunch Crossing should always be specified and only once
- Maximum 2 different SUM ET specific options are allowed
- Maximum 2 different MISS ET specific options are allowed
- A maximum 8 PreFred inputs (specific options)can be combined to form a Level 1 trigger
- Only 64 Level 1 triggers can be formed out of 64 PreFred inputs, associated with different Level 1 specific options
- Only 20 Level 1 triggers can be prescaled by maximum prescale factor 255
- Only 4 Level 1 triggers can be prescaled by maximum prescale factor 16,777, 215
- For luminosity counting Level 1 bit 23 is dedicated to bunch crossing signal prescaled by factor 10,000,019
- You must have privilege on the Alpha station, b0alpha00.fnal.gov ,where level 2 executables are built. See Stephen Miller to get this privilege. To check if your privilege works, execute "/usr/bin/rsh -l L2trig b0alpha00.fnal.gov hostname" from cdfdaq account on b0dapXX.fnal.gov. The expected output should be "b0alpha00.fnal.gov".
- When specifying level2 jet trigger don't forget to use DCAS specific options, which indicates the cluster pass for level 2 algorithm
