TOF Scintillator Page

The time of flight detector consists of 216 scintillator bars with a length of 2794mm and a cross section of roughly 40mm x 40mm.

The CLEO collaboration is dismanteling their time of flight system which they allowed us to use. The CLEO bars have a length of 2974mm and a cross section of 50mm x 100mm which allows us to cut them in half and produce two full length bars out of them. They will provide us with 69 counteres (64 formerly active bars + 5 spare bars).

The remaining bars will or are already ordered from BICRON. The specifications are such that they perfectly match the bars from CLEO.
