CDF Time of Flight

The time of flight detector consists of 216 scintillator bars which are read out at two sides using 19 staged fine mesh photo multiplier tubes from Hamamatsu (Model: R5946-mod). In total 432 tubes are needed for the detector. First tests with these tubes have been performed in Tsukuba ( CDF4980).
The BELLE collaboration in Japan has built up a very similar system. The specification they have used for their trade with Hamamatsu is given here in an english version and the pictures are available as well.
