NEW ! When you log in, you must put in the database "misprod1" in addition to entering your account and password

You, as a stakeholder, should have the "All with access manager" privilege for your module types. To check that, go to the production CMD, go to Module Database Reports using MISWEB, type in your account name in the CDF User Access report (top form), and click on run. A list of module types that you have privileges to will be listed.
If you do not have that privilege, send email to johny@fnal.gov.
If you do not have an account (click on the list box next to the user account name field to see current active accounts--note: it's updated daily, so if you got a new account today, it will not show up till tommorrow), please follow the instructions on getting an account.

"All with acccess manager" privileges means that you can make all updates to your modules, and in addition, you can assign such privileges to other user accounts.

To give user xxx certain privileges,

  1. click on THIS. You will be prompted for your account and password--ENTER "misprod1" in the database box (Note : you can right- click instead, and choose "open a new window"--so you can still read the instructions below).
  2. When you log on, you will see two windows pop up. The first contains a menu and control buttons. The second contains a list of users and their privileges. If you click on the ">", ">" "||<" and ">||" buttons in the control panel you can scroll through the list in the other window. (And the number in the lower left of the control window will change to indicate the current line.) You can also maneuver by clicking on the displayed line or using the scroll bar. The entries are listed alphabetically by username. Stakeholders will find themselves entered with "All with access manager" in the privs column.
  3. To create a new privilege, such as giving a user access to a board, you will create a new line in this list. Go to the bottom with the ">||" button.
  4. Press the "insert" button to open up a new blank line at the bottom of the list.
  5. Next to each field on the blank line there is a button labeled with "?". Click on these buttons to get a pop up menu to select the values for the field. Select the user, the module and the privilege to be granted. Stakeholders will typically want to grant their users "all without access manager" access. This allows them to move boards between slots and order repairs on boards.
  6. While you can make several new entries per session, you should click on "commit" in the control window to save changes FOR EACH ENTRY.
  7. An entry in this privilege list can be deleted by selecting the entry with the control arrows or clicking on the entry and pushing the "remove" button, followed by "commit".
  8. Click on "exit" to close windows.
  9. You may want to go to the "CDF User Access" report to check that the appropriate people have the appropriate privileges.
