Minutes of DAQ/Online Calibration Meeting 07/07/00
===================================================
THEME: Discussion of calibration package split and
getting calibration consumers into validation.
The cut into online production is moving along. Bill Badgett should have the
rundb in production the week of July 9. (Note, this did happen).
The cut into offline production was done and the next run of MDC2 should
use production.
The biggest problem has been to get the grants sorted out. For now we
are using external authentification although Rick Vidal is giving this a
lot of thought. We will keep the number of accounts low and essentially
establish one per subdetector.
After the rundb is in, the only missing database is the trigger. this
awaits development and integration testing anyway.
The calibration database package CalibDBTables which defines all the
tables was split into packages grouped by subdetector component. The
split had one hitch that was repaired but broke development for one day.

Bill was on night shift the night before and sent the following mail:
I will be unable to attend the 9 am calibration meeting. Here is
a quick summary of what's new with COT calibrations:
1) COT map classes will go in COTGeometry. All parties agree on this.
The view to the hardware database has been modified to include
the channel id info in the COTD banks. So there are now 3 ways
of describing a channel:
a) crate, slot, chip index (0-95)
b) superlayer, cell, wire
c) 9 bit word in headers of COTD bank (essentially superlayer
bits 6:8, mod ID 0:5), 7 bit word in the data words
(local cell number 4:6, wire number 0:3).
The view was modified to deal with case c). Any consumer
(YMON) getting
COTD banks will be able to get description a) or b). Of course,
given a), one can still get b), and vice-versa. CotCalibConsumer
i set up to get a) from the front end, convert to b), and then
put both a) and b) in the DB.
3) STILL waiting for flat cables to be connected to repeater cards
so that length calibration can ensue...

-------------------------------------------------
The Database machine was shipped and should get to fermilab
the week of 7/9. There is a hitch in the fact that the business
services database is down for 4 days so it will be impossible to get the
machine even if it is on site until the database is back.
Rick asked about when it would be brought up. The idea is that it
should come up as 8.1.6.1 and shortly after that, the production machine
should go to 8.1.6.1.
