First Day of Shift

• Make sure you have KERBEROS principal at FNAL! Without it you won't be able to do much.
• Have the outgoing shift person add your name to the .k5login file in one place:
  fcdflnx3:~cdfopr/.k5login
  As user cdfopr on fcdflnx3, with a valid kerberos ticket for user cdfopr, you will be able to log on to fcdfsgi2, cdfsga, and ncdf75.
• Have your name set in automatically executed monitoring scripts:
  log into fcdflnx3
  ssh -l cdfopr fcdflnx3
  get a cdfopr ticket so you can log into any computer
  ~cdfopt/ticket
  log into cdfsga
  ssh -l cdfopr cdfsga
  setup xemacs
  edit the two scripts and insert you name under the heading shifter
  xemacs bin/update_Oracle_DB_Usage
  ...
  - cdfopr@cdfsga:bin/update_Oracle_DB_Usage
  - cdfopr@cdfsga:bin/check_DB_CPU_Usage
• Subscribe to the CDF_SOFTWARE_HELP@FNAL.GOV mailing list by sending email to listserv@fnal.gov with:
  • subject line blank
  • subscribe CDF_SOFTWARE_HELP yourfirstname yourlastname in the body of the text
• Visit CDF-BUGS administrator page and register as an administrator by:
  1. entering your name in new user window and pressing "Create user"
  2. scrolling to your name in "Select your username" window
  3. pressing "Edit Preferences" and entering your name in the "Full name:" window
