Event Data Model Status for the February 1999 CDF Collaboration Meeting 12-Feb-1999 RDK, to be presented by Liz Buckley-Geer 1) EDM work: a backwards-compatible upgrade to improve robustness of Offline and productivity of Offline developers. Not holding up Offline development. 2) February: Generate and critize an EDM proposal with a transition plan from current state to new model described in proposal. 3) March: Finalize and approve EDM proposal. Some slippage in schedule due to constraints on such a high-impact infrastructure issue. Implement in April. 4) New model will be much more C++-oriented. Trybos used to shield users from changes. Existing Banks classes will still work, for instance. 5) Continued F77 support at current levels for most important F77 software, eg. BLOCAT(), BMAKE(), etc. 6) StorableObjects, more general and convenient than YBOS Banks, can be stored in an event. Once stored, StorableObjects become read-only. StorableCollections can also be stored directly in an event. 7) http://www-cdf.fnal.gov/upgrades/computing/projects/edm/edm.html EDM Working Group meets off-week Tuesday 11:30 B0-2 new video-conference room
