How to build your own version of CDF2SIM

Run II CDF software environment is maintained by SoftRelTools, see code management page for more details

Basic commands

setup CDF Run II code management system (development version):

                    source ~cdfsoft/cdf2.cshrc
                    setup cdfsoft2 development

all the developers are strongly recommended to link against development . On the contrary, users should setup production version:
```
                    source ~cdfsoft/cdf2.cshrc
                    setup cdfsoft2
```
create in the private area a test release corresponding to the development version of production release
```
                    newrel -t development test
```

set local context

                    cd test
                    srt_setup -a

add last version of package RootMods to the private area and build private version of CDF2SIM executable:
```
                    addpkg -h RootMods
                    gmake RootMods.cdf2sim
```
this should create an executable bin/$BFARCH/cdf2sim.exe

Note: be careful when adding new packages to the release - you do not have to use -h flag if you are linking against production. In this case just type

                    newrel -t 3.0.0 pro
                    cd pro
                    addpkg gnt

Besides basics

don't use CERN version earlier than 97a
