MC Validation page

There is a lot of various validation sources scattered throughout CDF web-based documentation. This one is maintained by MC group.

last time CDF2SIM has been validated on t-tbar events generated with ISAJET on Oct 29 1999
the results of the validation job were compared to the results of the same job ran on Aug 16 1999

the ROOT files with the histograms are available on cdfsga in

directory - look for *.root files in there, the date is coded in the file name (the file without the date is the last one)
the following validation plots are available:
- MC event generator plots: .eps, .gif
- COT plots: .eps, .gif,
- SVX plots: .eps, .gif
comments on SVX plots:
- there is an indication that a (non-understood!) problem with SVX hit generation on R-Phi side - a dip at low strip charges - seems to be gone in the new data.
comments on COT plots:
- the change in the COT drift model commited on Sep 17 1999 (started using "slow" gas - Ar:Ethane (50:50))
- the change in the number of COT hits per particle is due to the decrease of the pulse width (the corresponding distributions are not shown)
