Security Information From the Server

In order to have the local node obtain its security information from the server, one needs to change the file location from the security dialogue box. Start up the system configuration and then choose from the menu to setup security. Note that currently only Sam Segler has the privileges to edit the security files. Others will be added when needed.

Then from the security dialogue box, select edit configuration. Security should be enabled and the path for the security file should be

S:\DYNAMICS\LOCAL

And the backup directory should be

X:\DYNAMICS\LOCAL

Where X is the partition where you have installed DMACS on your local PC. Then say OK to exit the dialogue. When asked if you want to copy security information to the server, say NO! Then SAVE and EXIT.

Finally, in Windows Explorer copy the contents of the S:\DYNAMICS\LOCAL directory to the local DYNAMICS\LOCAL directory to have the backup directory be in synch with the server.

Alarm Area Information From the Server

This can be set up from the configuration dialogue box. Choose EDIT PATHS and for Alarm Areas, enter the path

S:\DYNAMICS\PDB

Then SAVE and EXIT

Alias for Muon SCADA Node

Start up the system configuration dialogue box. From here select NETWORK. For the Muon node, make sure MUON2 has not been added to the list. Then for the remote node, enter

CAEN127

And select ADD. Check the Alias Enabled box and enter MUON2 for the primary node and MUON3 for the secondary node. Then exit and save.
