Monitoring Controls System meeting on April 16, 2002

Attendance:
Steve Hahn, Andy Hocker, Mark Knapp, Konstantin Kotelnikov, Margherita Vittone, Marcin Wolter, John Yoh, JC Yun

NEWS:
An access to collision hall was scheduled to remove a broken wire in COT. SVX is down since the incident when beam destroyed several ladders. Beam division is waiting for new RF's to increase luminosity. This will increase luminosity by factor of 2 to 4 by increasing antiprotons. This will cost about 2 weeks to install them. Also they are thinking about to shield the low beta quads to reduce beam loss.

SYSTEM:
Mark said Rich Schmitt is thinking about updating iFIX software to version 2.5 since D0 is running verion 2.5. Steve will look into this issue.

PLUG HV:
Luciana needs to create iFix tags for Oracle database. Margherita will contact her.

CLC:
We need to send CLC status signal to ACNET for accelerator people. We are still debating how to proceed.

VNODE1:
The vnode1 hung again during the virus scans. Twice since the last meeting we had 2 weeks ago.

ICICLE:
The Icicle excutable is crashing regular bases. The error has to do with lack of virtual memory. Mark will look into the problem.

SVX:
Andy said that SVXIICON disk was full and could not open any pictures. However there seems 150Mbyte available. Steve suggested that he should delete all the pictures in the disk and download from the picture server to save more space. The trigger inhibits for L00, SVX, and ISL are working fine now.

GAMMA:
Steve said he is cosidering switching to APACS readout. It would cost about 1 week.

PSM:
Since the PSM instruction to shift crew is not updated, there was some confusion in how to unmask channels. Marcin promised to update the instruction.
