Monitoring Controls System meeting on April 30, 2002

Attendance:
Bill Badgett, Andreas Bocci, Steve Hahn, Andy Hocker, Konstantin Kotelnikov, Margherita Vittone, John Yoh, JC Yun

NEWS:
Steve said that over the last week, there was a significant improvement in instantaneous luminosity ( 1.5-2.0*10**31) with better life time. This is due to smaller emittance but no one knows why this happened. There will be 2 weeks access in early June for RF installation. We expect 2-4 times more luminosity from this. During October, there will be one month long access.

ICICLE:
Icicle excutable crashes once in a while. This is due to virtual memory leak. It happens when the run_control inteferes with the Icicle. Bill said there will be 2 kludges to fix this problem. These are 1) run_control does not require acknowledgement from Icicle and 2) Icicle send heart beat signal every 1 minute to run_control. This could be tested on Wednesday.
In addition to the usual database updating, the Icicle snap shot will happen once per hour. This takes about 6 minutes. All the values of tags are stored during this time.
Magherita announced that she will start a new project at D0 right after she ties up Icicle in the near future. However she would be available for maintenane.

"Thanks Magherita for your wonderful work for the CDF iFIX group!"

DOCUMENTATION:
John said he got a new version of a PSM instruction from Marcin.

PISABOX:
Konstantin said he is working on graphic interface which could make shift crew be able to see diagnostic pictures.

CLC:
Andrea is considering standby option at 'CDFHVSummary' page. However, communication problem exist between the CLC1 and the CLC crate. The CLC crate recognize only on or off state. We need to study more to set a value in between 0% and 100%

Steve said a CLC signal cable at the trigger inhibit rack will be hooked up to ACNET for the accelerator interlock. Cables are in place and he is waiting for Bill Noe to set up APACS.

SVXIICON:
Andy said the svx heartbeat frequency is a lot more than expected. JC said he would look into this problem.
