Monitoring Controls System meeting on August 20, 2002

Attendance:
David Dagenhart, Steve Hahn, Andy Hocker, Mark Knapp, Yeongdae Shon, Marcin Wolter, John Yoh, JC Yun

NEWS:
Beam studies on every other week will continue. New aces are being trained now.

iFIX Upgade:
Mark said the new plan is to go to iFIX version 3.0 instead of 2.6. Since D0 gain little by moving up from 2.5 to 2.6, version 3.0 was chosen. We were told that so far version 3.0 is doing fine after release. Six iFIX software keys are already ordered. Four of them are for CDF use.

The 4 iFix keys will be allocated to :

1) Jim Loskot's PC
2) PC at SiDet
3) Apacs test PC
4) iFixTest

EDA: Official words are 'EDA should work by just recompiling.'

Pictures: Jim will change pictures. We have to be careful since they
are not backward compatible. Also some subdirectories will
           be changed.

Softwares: The iFix software is free since the costs are already included
           in maintenance contract with Fermilab.
CAEN:
Steve volunteered to test CAEN PCI version. He said CAEN version 5.27 (Plug HV, TOF) works ok. The version 1.27 (Muon, Calorimetry) needs to be tested.

MUON:
Yeongdae said CMX got into wrong voltage somehow. At the moment HVMON does not check HV limits.

SVX:
Andy said the L00 software trip did not generate trigger inhibit somehow on August 17. He thinks it has to do with communication problem between SVXIICON and CDF-S2.

Plug TEMP:
David said the CDFTEMP locked up after virus scane for the last 2 weeks, even if we lowered the virus scan priority. We need to do something about this.
