Monitoring Controls System meeting on August 9, 2005
Attendance:
Steve Hahn, Yeongdae Shon, Margherita Vittone, John Yoh, JC Yun
News:
The shutdown schedule is still not decided.
A new record instantaneous luminosity happened last week (1.39*10**32). Automatic trigger scaling worked very well with only ~5% dead time.
A PVSS (CERN equivalent of iFix) course was given at FNAL for 2 weeks (July 25-Aughst 5). These course consisted of 3 sections (PVSS, JCOP frame work, Finite State Machine). Total of 15 students attended at the beginning. The attendance tapered off after the first week. Sascha Schmeling from CERN did an excellent job on hands-on instruction.
MUON3:
Yeongdae said he succeeded in compiling the HVMON excutable and began talking to CAEN. We decided to move the stand alone pc close the current MUON3 pc. This way we can easily test CAEN control part. This is a good news since it's the last
system still using Windows NT.
PSM:
Ben Whitehouse is making great progress since he came back to FNAL, he fixed quite a few bugs in the code.
Also he redefined some of the power supplies to ignore those channels not in use.

ICICLE:
Margherita is urging Mary to provide the CP2 tags for Oracle database.
SOLENOID II:
The Solenoid II computer were set up not to go to sleep but it does it anyway.
This caused a lot of trouble for Icicle data collection. So far we have no clue for this strange problem. We need to fix this bug ASAP.
