NEWS:
We are going ahead with software upgrade to the iFIX version 3.0 during the
shutdown between Jan. 13 to Jan. 25. We think we can upgrade majority of the
systems during this time. Those systems we can not upgrade during this
time will be upgraded whenever breaks are avaible and will run the
old version mean time.
We were told that the mixed states (version 2.2 and 3.0) can coexist.
While Andy was importing and exporting a small test iFix database at a pc at SiDet with new version, he got a few minor error messages. He suggested that we should test out import/export for a few of full blown iFix databases before the upgrade starts.
VNODE:
The animated values on CDFGbAlarms page which are linked to local PC's
should have cosistent meaning. The links are:
Fix32.local_node.XXX_wrn_cur.f_cv
Fix32.local_node.XXX_wrn_mon.f_cv
Fix32.local_node.XXX_wrn_ign.f_cv
Fix32.local_node.XXX_alm_cur.f_cv
Fix32.local_node.XXX_alm_mon.f_cv
Fix32.local_node.XXX_alm_ign.f_cv
There are a lot of confusions on what those values really mean.
Some people thought the 'current' meant the total number of
events during a certain period of time while most people think it represent
the number of existing events happening at a certain time.
Also some people thought the 'current' includes the number
in 'ignored' while others think they are independent.
After the discussion, we came up with the conclusion that we should
have more consistent criteria for these values even if we have varieties of
subsystems.
We decided to consult with shift crews to find out what they would
like to have for those values and also develop more precise definition for
these.
Karoi and Rob requested to have a sigle button on the CDFHVSummary page which turns on and off all the HV's (except a few systems). This would make shift crew more efficient. Margherita thinks she made a similar button in the code but it's hidden at the moment. We will work on this.
PSM:
Marcin made a big improvement in PSM readout. Now it's about a factor of
5 faster than what it used to be.
