NEWS:
Steve said Tevatron is not doing great these days. Large beam losses
cause Muon chamber problems and power supply failures.
General:
It's time to update documents on the MCS web pages. Some of the instructions
have been obsolete since long time ago. Since a new group of aces are
starting this week, it might be the right time to do so. If you have any
problem in putting links on the MCS main web page, please let me know.
System:
The disk full problems of the Vnode1 during the holidays caused some trouble.
One of the monitoring aces figured out that iFIX produces a lot of files
in temp area. These files (~*.tmp) are made each time we restart iFIX.
About 4 Mb each time. There were about 200Mb worth of files in the
temp area,
C:\TEMP. JC cleaned up the files and Vnode1 has been working fine since
then.
Reminder:
The Norton Virus scanning is running on every Tuesday starting
at 10AM. Please check your system performance during the scanning.
Vnode1:
JC installed new versions of CDFGbAlarms and CDFHVSummary pages. These
files are animated with tags while timers are running in the background mode.
These are CDFGbAlarms_vnode and CDFHVSummary_vnode and they are set as
default. It reduced the freezing time of Vnode1 substantially.
PSM:
Marcin needs to modify some of the PSM pictures since they freeze the Vnode1
more than 20 seconds when they are opened. He promised to look into the
matter.
CCU:
Margherita is working on CCU integration into CDFGbAlarms and CDFHVSummary
pages. Gervasio wants to enable monitoring after he comes back from Spain
sometime early February.
PLUG:
The readout problem of Plug high voltage forced us to increase heart beat
checking interval from 7 minutes to 15 minutes.
Pisabox:
During the Zenon calibration, CEM, CHA and WHA monitoring is turned off.
These will happen about once a day during the quite time.
CLC:
Margherita said Andrea Bocci wants the control buttons at the CDFHVSummary
page. She will work on it some time in the future.
