Monitoring Controls System meeting on July 12, 2005

News:

During the last two weeks we had a lot of trouble with beam. Mostly due to problems with pbar transfer and stack loss.
  • For the general iFix status, please look into the Steve's transparencies.

    • ICICLE:

    Steve said Phil reported that MUON3 information was not being stored in Oracle database. It turned out communication between MUON3 and Solenoid2, where Icicle runs, was broke at the time. Other subsystems were fine. It would be nice if Icicle sends out warning messages to the shift crews for these kind of situation.

    MUON3:

    Yeongdae said he talked to Andy Hocker for advices on the HVMON, as he was suggested on the last meeting. However, he was not much help since SVXIICON hardwares are different from those of MUON3. He also said he can not work on upgrade due to his thesis work. He suggested us to find a new person as a replacement.

    SVXIICON:

    Ulrich said he and Mark set up the SVXIICON computer such a way that when it is rebooted several SVX programs starts automatically. This is to make shift crews easier when they need to restart the computer when the computer freezes.

    DOCUMENTATION:

    John said it's time to validate subdetector instructions for the shift crews. Even if there is no change in the instructions, please update date after review.
