Monitoring Controls System meeting on July 9, 2002

Attendance:
Bill Badgett, Steve Hahn, Andy Hocker,Konstantin Kotelnikov, Fiodar V Prakoshyn, Margherita Vittone, John Yoh, JC Yun

News:
Recently we had record luminosities. Somewhere around 2.2*10**31. We expect 3.0*10**31 by August. Steve said the schedule of the October shut down became less clear at the moment. It is strongly depend on how much data we can take before the winter conferences.

PLUG_HV:
Attempt was made to implement local onoff tags into the CDFEPHV. Tags were put in but the excutable is not modified yet. Concerning slow update for plug high voltage, Andy suggested that we can improve updating time for the critical PLUG tags by splitting database into 2 groups. One group of all the not so critical tags are updating as usual. For those small number of tags which are critical can be updated every 30 seconds or so.
The Plug group also requested to have control buttons at the 'CDFHVSummary page' so that shift crews can have the control. Magherita promised to handle the request.

TRIGGER INHIBIT:
Jonathan requested to the iFIX group to split the MUON high voltage system into 3 subsystems for the trigger inhibit. Yeongdae, Margherita and Steve promised to work on this.

Central Calorimeter:
Konstantin said the central calorimeter pictures show wrong colors. JC and Konstantin solved the problem right after the meeting.

PSM:
Marcin said a power supply was moved from 2nd floor to 1st floor. He asked Margherita to change the tag name accordingly in the ICICLE.

TOF:
After Daniele installed the 'WAIT' command in the TOF excutable, the TOF1 is doing well. Since the CLC1 did well after similar implement a few months ago, we requested Daniel to follow suit. This confirms that 100% CPU usage makes system unstable.

ICICLE:
Margherita is putting in counter tags into the ICICLE.

GAM:
We have an intern working on the APAX on Gammer supply. It will take a couple of weeks. This will enable us to monitor current alarms.

CCU:
Fiodar said the CCU software power switch does not work with the ACE account. We need to provide the ACE account priviledge so that the shift crews can activate the switch.
