Monitoring Controls System meeting on June 8, 2004

Attendance:
Steve Hahn, Dan Ryan, Yeongdae Shon, Irina Shreyber, Margherita Vittone, John Yoh, JC Yun

NEWS:
A record instantaneous luminosity of 8.2x10**31 was recorded during the week. However the lifetime and loss of the beam were not as good. The COT aging study with the increased flow rate was not conclusive.

SYSTEM:
We need to purchase all the pc's for the upgrade during the shutdown. We have money for these. Steve said installation of interface cards etc. would cost more time than installing the Windows 2000 and iFix software.

ICICLE:
Recently there have been some problems with the Icicle system. For example, CLC and MUON informations were lost. Shift crews noticed that there were communication failures between MUON and SOLENOID nodes. Jane Nachtman is working on debugging codes for the Smart Socket.

MOUN:
Yeongdae said he can be reached via his long distance pager during the one week (7/22 - 7/31). He will be attending a QCD conference in Wisconsin.

PISABOX:
Irina left Fermilab on the last Thursday. Irina worries that some of the Aces were trying too hard. Some tried to reset the central HV system even for heartbeat problems.

VOLTMAN:
Dan said some are complaining about the test crates being masked off. They argue that masking off is somewhat confusing. He also said we are still suffering from bad readings from the first floor power supplies.
