Monitoring Controls System meeting on June 22, 2004

NEWS:

  • The accelerator delivered another record luminosity. This time the instataneous luminosity is 9.2*10**31. People also noted that some of the stores are very low in beam loss.

  • COT recovered most of the gain loss by adding small amount of O2 in the gas mixture.

  • The shutdown schedule of August 23rd for 10 weeks still stands.

    • SYSTEM:
    MCS system is forced to upgrade since the FNAL domain, where MCS system runs, will be retired by the end of the year.

  • Steve's transparacies on upgrades.

    • ICICLE:
    Margherita is working on ICICLE to improve the system. Jane Nachtman helps her out on Smart Socket. The Smart Router is also avaiable for diagnostic purpose. The incident of communication problem with MUON3 was found to be random. She is thinking about heartbeat checking between Solenoid2 ,where ICICLE runs, and all remote computers to avoid similar problems in the future.
