SYSTEM:
Steve said old versions of pictures which were downloaded from the picture
server were accumulating in local nodes. This is due to the fact that when
pictures are downloaded from the picture server, those old versions with
different name in local pc's are not deleted. Steve deleted all the pictures
in the Pisabox before downloading from the server. He saved more than
200Mbyte in C: disk. Steve recommened we do this regularly.
JC reported an incident happened several weeks ago. When we lost all the
information in the iFIX database, usually we recover them from Vnode2 but
this time we could not since Vnode2 was down at the same time. This caused
a lot of hassle. All the subsystem experts had to restart iFIX from local
node except COT, PSM and Gamma.
JC proposed to have a copy of XXX_ONOFF tag in the local iFIX database so
we could copy them to Vnode database when it happen again. He proposed
a name for this tag ... Fix32.'Local_node_name'.XXX_ONOFF_VNODE.
However, after the meeting Aseet pointed out that there is another way to
solve the problem. Since COT updates the ONOFF tag in the Vnode database
every 10 seconds there is no need for an extra tag for COT system. This
seems a better solution.
We prefer the latter solution. For those systems which is not suitable to
go for this way, we need an extra tag in the local node.
CCU:
1) All CCUs and Pisa Boxes are readout every hour. We have readout problems.
a) CCUs problems: HV and threshold randomly changes; sometimes CCU
becomes unreadable and we need access to reboot it.
b) Pisa Boxes problem: too slow
3) All global tags are in VNODEs and CDF_S2.
4) Heartbeat time interval is 5 minutes.
5) Description of every channel is available.
Things to do:
1) Provide more detailed CCU & Pisa Box channel diagnostics.
2) Provide automatic iFIX reboot scheme after pc crash.
3) Complete documentation with full description of our system.
GAMMA:
Konstantine's transparancies are below.
ICICLE:
Margherita said all the sysmtems are integrated into ICICLE except TOF, PLUG,
CCU and PSM. She is still working on begin run and end run problem. As a
temporary solution we are writing all iFIX infomation into the Oracle database
once an hour.
SVX:
Andy said trigger inhibit of ISL and L00 does not work --- with Del
Allspach's help, software part of this problem was fixed by JC a week
after the meeting.
TOF:
Daniele said sometimes TOF pc hangs and 'Control Alt Del' key does not work.
There might
be some correlation between this and RTV (real time virus) scan since this
chew up more than 60% of the cpu time. One possibility is that there is a
corupted file and the scanning got stuck somehow.
