How to Set up Global Color Tables

Creating a global color table that can be shared between a group of data sources.

Right click on the "GLOBAL" icon in the system tree.

Select "Create Threshold Table" from the menu. This will create a new threshold table with a default name of "Threshold(n)".

 

Right click on the new threshold table "Threshold(n) and select the "Property Window" from the menu. In the Name field, change the default name to something more meaningful,(MyColorTable, VoltColorTable).

Close the property window.

Right click on "MyColorTable" and select "CUSTOM" from the menu. This will display the "Custom Lookup Table" window. Here you can change the "Low", "High" and "Color" levels.

Press OK.

To assign the global color table "MyColorTable" to a datalink, right click on the datalink you want to assign the global color table to and select "DataLink Custom Page" from the menu.

Fill in the Source field with the name of the data source to be displayed. Click on the "Expression Builder" button, the box with "…" to open the window.

In the "Expression Builder" window you can select a data source from any of the displayed "Node Names". Select the data source from the "Tag Names" field and the data to be displayed from the "Field Names" field. After making selections..

NOTE: There are two buttons labeled "A* and F*". Pressing either button by default will select the current value in ASCII or Floating point format.

press the OK button.

Right click the Datalink and select "Animation’s" from the menu.

 

In the Datalink(n) Animation’s window select the "Color" tab. In the "Properties" field section select the "ForeGroundColor" check box.. In the "Dynamic Setting for the ForeGroundColor property" field select a data source by pressing the "Expression Builder" button.

Select the same data source that was assigned to the datalink.

Press the OK button.

 

In the "ForeGround Color" field press the "Advanced" button. This will open the "Advanced Lookup Options" window.

 

In the "Shared Lookup Object" field press the "Expression Builder " button.

In the "Expression Builder" window select the "Globals" tab. Click on the "User" field. Select "MyColorTable" in the objects field and "ColorTable" from the properties field. This action will assign the global color table "MyColorTable" to the datalink.

Press the OK button.

 

In the "Advanced Lookup Options" window press the "Unmatched Level" button and select a color to display the datalink in when the data source is out of range of the color table.

 

Press OK.

Press OK.

Now Temp-1 is associated with the global color table "MyColorTable". Any number of datalinks can be assigned to "MyColorTable" by following the above steps.
