Monitoring Controls System meeting on November 13, 2001

Attendance:
Julian Boudagov, Steve Hahn, Oleg Pukhov, Daniel Ryan, Margherita Vittone, John Yoh, JC Yun

NEWS:
Steve said that the access will be extended until at least Wednesday (21st). At the 3rd floor, Domain Name Server (DNS) backup test was in progress. Steve was going to sign off the Computer Security Procedures by the end of the week. The ACL(Access Control List) will be restricted - for example, Margherita lost one out of 3 ports.
Mark recommended that for those who want to have a MCS account will be required to have at least a FNAL e-mail account. Final authorization should be made by Steve or JC.
As part of the disaster recovery plan, CDF-S3 was rebuild. It took about only 4 hours. However, this is not exactly the way we wanted since DVD driver was not completely funtional.
INS representative for FNAL, Mike, quit his job. The new person is Ted Tatosian. Margherita said he is interest in visiting FNAL sometime in near future.

CCU:
Oleg presented on the CCU system. He said they added PISABOX controllers into the CCU system. We need to think about on the issue of whether the CCU system should be controlled from the control room by shift crews.

PSM:
Dan said they added more power supplies for the Shower Max Detector(SMD) and Muon ASD crates. The power supplies for the SMD have common voltage offset of 2 to 3 volts. Floating ground was thought to be the culprit. However, the ~5 KOhm by pass resisters could not cure the problem and they were switching back to the original state.

Trigger Inhibit:
Since the SAM modules for TI in the CAMAC crate were flaky, we were going for APACS system. Hopefully this would solve the problems.

ICICLE:
Margherita said she was working with Randy Herber for his Oracle browser.
