NEWS:
Accelerator is doing pretty good these days. January shutdown plan is
floating now. They say it could be pushed back as far as September. The
decision will be made some time early November. There was a security
incident. A pc at the Cryo area was running a fileserver.
The pc was disconnected from the network as result.
Please remember file servers are not allowed in your pc.
CDF is cleaning up the B0 3rd floor computer area. Please check and clean up
your area.
ICICLE:
Since ICICLE takes a large fraction of Oracle database a task force is formed
to optimize iFIX data storage. Allan Sill is in charge. Offline replication
of the Oracle online database for analysis groups is not complete. Magherita's
plot shows that about 20 gbytes/year for iFix information stored into the
Oracle database. Currently 1100 tags are stored every 10 minutes. All the
tags (14000) are snapshot every hour.
Trigger Inhibit:
The swap between CMP and CMX trigger inhibit was due to a typo at the
APACS address. The COT_LV inhibit happened for half an hour. It's quite
strange since is no known user for this tag at the moment.
After the meeting, we decided to dedicate if for the COT low voltages
monitored by
COT2.
GAMMA:
Gamma system display at the 'CDFHVSummary' page is working now.
DOC's:
According to John, we made some progress in the iFIX documentation and
urges subsystem expert to update them.
PLUG HV:
Margherita said she and Luciana are working on the Plug HV control buttons
on 'CDFHVSummary'.
It needs some tests before we install it.
VNODE:
Some people are complaining about the control buttons of 'CDFHVSummay' page.
They said it's confusing since the high lighted buttons do not correspond
to the status of HV. We agreed to remove the high light features.
SYSTEM:
Andy said iFIX 3.0 and new EDA tool kits are ready to be tested at SiDet.
Larry strongly argued we need to install VNC at the pc, iFIXTEST, to
test it out with 3.0.
TOF:
Daniele said the TOF pc never crashed after we switched to a new pc. He
said it took about half day to change over from scratch.
MUON:
Yeongdae said someone logged into iFIX in at the MUON3 but forgot to go back
to the default account. After a while the user timed out and there was no one
logged in at all. This stopped monitoring completely. We need to ask
Jim Loskot to change the timeout feature to go back to the default user
when a user times out.
