NEWS:
During the power outage on Septemeber 8, the UPS nor the Diesel generator
worked in the way they supposed to work. The UPS procedure did not seem working.
We will have another power outage at B0 to test the UPS procedure
some time soon. The
diesel generator supposed to turn on 5 minute after any power outage.
The generator seems running but there was no current output. By the way,
September 29th is scheduled for another power outage for the whole day.
A new service pack arrived for computer virus on Monday. We need to install them on each pc one by one.
There was a problem with the RT server which controls communication between the run control and the MVME (Motorolla card for VME) through a protocol called smart socket. This caused problem with the SVX cooling interlock system. The problem is now fixed now.
SYSTEM:
Steve said we do not know what's going on with the Siemens software which
is a candidate fo the iFIX replacement. Previously we were told that someone
was going to work on it as part of SVXIIb project at the SiDet. We do not
know what will happen since the SVXIIb project is now cancelled.
SVX:
SVX cooling was affected by the generator failure during the power outage.
However since the power supplies for the SVX chips were not working either
due to outage, we do not expect any damange on SVX chips.
PISABOX:
We are ready to upgrade the PISABOX with a new PC. The disk of the new
PISABOX was setup differently. It has a disk of 30 Gbyte partitioned into two
disks(C and D). The D disk is an image copy of C disk.
Irina said 'cut and paste' did not work in the iFIX Visual Basic editor. Yeongdae suggested that should use the option 'recompile' to make it work.
PSM:
Steve said installation of the the devices for 'fan on' monitoring is almost
complete.
