NEWS:
Quite a few detector problems caused many accesses and down
time during the week.
PLUG HV:
The VNC program worked at the Vnode2 where the plug HV can be controlled
instead of going upstairs during the most critical time - shot setup.
There is an Engineering intern who can give a hand to Luciana to make
a major modification to her code to control HV through iFIX tags. At the
moment, aces are controlling HV with a switch box at the 3rd floor.
GAMMA:
Steve pointed out a stumbling block on switching to APACS system -
some power supplies are known to be different from others.
TI:
Steve said Jonathan is thinking about using VME system for trigger inhibit.
Trigger inhibit through iFIX system is not so flexible. It took 7 people
to split Muon High voltage system.
Documentation:
John said the initial MCS documentation update should be done by October 11
when John's shift starts as Scico. We will ask experts to update documentation
every 3 monthes or so.
PSM:
Marcin said there was a broken monitoring cable which resulted in a flurry of
page calls. Upon request by Camille, the CCU power supply monitoring is off.
CENTRAL:
Irina Shreyber from ITEP is replacement for Konstantine. However, she can
not come into states because of her visa problems. Also another person is
sought after for the same work. Simone asked about possible VNC usage from
Russia in case she can not get visa. Steve thinks it's next to impossible
knowing the heightened security standards.
SYSTEM:
Jim recieved 4 copies of iFIX 3.0. However, we do not have any EDA tookit and
iHistorian.
