HB++ CONFIGURATION

  • To Configure a Pulsar Board to implement a HB++ you need of two mezzanine cards (one must be 512k and one 4M large memory). The pictures below show how to put the jumper to program the CONTROL, DATA_IO_2, the DATA_IO_1 FPGAs by the front JTAG connector, and how to mount the two mezzanines. Please note that the order of the chain is as follows:
    CONTROL
    DATA_IO_2
    DATA_IO_1
    In other words, this means that the chain start from the CONTROL that is the lower most chip and goes up in the board to the DATA_IO_2 that is in the middle and finally to the DATA_IO_1 that is the upper most.

    There are a few things to check. Here is the list:
    - the jumpers for the JTAG chain and those close to the P1, P2 and P3 connectors
    - the two clocks (be sure to put the black dot in the right corner, i.e. orient them correctly).
    - the two mezzanines.
    - set and check the red dipswitches, please ask Ted how to set them. When you know the convention please write it here!
    - remember to update the svtvme/doc/Status_Location_Pulsar.txt file with the serial numbers of the board and the mezzanines. (You will need to check out svtvme, see
    instructions)
    - remember to put a label on it saying the name of the board i.e. HB++ and the serial number from the P0.
