HB++ CONFIGURATION
For more information about Pulsar click here
To Configure a Pulsar Board to implement a HB++ you need of two mezzanine cards (one must be 512k and one 4M large memory). The pictures below show how to put the jumper to program the CONTROL, DATA_IO_2, the DATA_IO_1 FPGAs by the front JTAG connector, and how to mount the two mezzanines.
Please note that the order of the chain is as follows:
CONTROL
DATA_IO_2
DATA_IO_1
In other words, this means that the chain start from the CONTROL that is the lower most chip and goes up in the board to the DATA_IO_2 that is in the middle and finally to the DATA_IO_1 that is the upper most.
There are a few things to check. Here is the list:
- the jumpers for the JTAG chain and those close to the P1, P2 and P3 connectors
- the two clocks (be sure to put the black dot in the right corner, i.e. orient them correctly).
- the two mezzanines.
- set and check the red dipswitches, please ask Ted how to set them.
When you know the convention please write it here!
- remember to update the svtvme/doc/Status_Location_Pulsar.txt file with the serial numbers of the board and the mezzanines. (You will need to check out svtvme, see instructions)
- remember to put a label on it saying the name of the board i.e. HB++ and the serial number from the P0.
Warning:
The jtag cable and the jtag connector on the front pannel have key. In some pulsar we have found that the orientation of the front pannel connector is reverse respect to that one of jtag cable!!!!
