ISL Cooling Task Force
This Task Force was formed to address some anomalously behaving
cooling lines of the ISL detector. We eventually discovered
that these lines were blocked with epoxy. We developed methods
to target and remove the epoxy in situ using a Nd:YAG laser.
We fully recovered 11 of 12 blocked cooling lines. The repaired
lines have been delivering physics quality data since mid-2002.
The remaining blocked line is extremely difficult and is not likely
to be recovered.
