Remaining issues not (or insufficiently) addressed in the talks: 1) Must re-check ASD's for mechanical fit; especially check front panel hole. Peter Wilson will help. 2) Should request two quotes for the long cables: one for an order of 4 cables, and one for an order of 8. 4 is probably enough spares, but we might want to get 8 if the price difference is marginal. 3) Require confirmation from Marco Cordelli that Frascati will send to Fermilab pre-assembled bulkhead boards. 4) Require the cost estimate of additional equipment. This should be a detailed list that has cost estimates for each item. For example: item: 8 ASD Boards, provide Parts Cost, PCB Cost, and Assembly Cost. 5) Does the 27 TB/ASD pairs currently tested and available for CEM include the four which are already installed? Installation strategy: Compile a procedure checklist for the installation of one unit of EM timing (a wedge?) which can be used to verify at any given time the status of the installation/checking and can be used to supply serial numbers to the database. Begin installation as soon as we get new, healthy, tested TB's. Install most difficult wedges first (top and bottom). Move toward the middle (3 o'clock and 9 o'clock). Stop installation when we don't have the full complement of parts to assemble a whole wedge. Do not do any tricks to maximize coverage which will have to be disassembled later, and require changes to the mapping which make data analysis difficult. We request a weekly status report on parts procurement, and wish to re-convene at the end of September (propose 29.Sep. but precise date/time to be determined) for assessment of the ongoing installation. Best wishes, Camille, Steve, Mike, Pat, Rob, Willis, and Peter
